How quickly will my seedbox be setup?
We integrated our site with PayPal in February of 2011. As a result, most accounts are set up instantly. On the off chance that a payment did not go through or if a malfunction occurred and you have not received your seedbox within an hour. Send a ticket into support and we should get back to you within a few hours.

 

How fast is your seedboxes?
That depends on which trackers you use, but you can expect a 700 MB movie to take about 30 minutes and a 4.7 GB DVD about an hour or two to download when using a good tracker and a lot of seeds.

 

 

 

Billing

Will my subscription automatically renew at the end of my first month?
Your subscription to DedicatedSeedbox.net is automatic. We will automatically bill you for your second month on the same date as you registered. You can cancel your subscription or contact support to cancel your account.

 

Do you accept payments other than PayPal?
No, however, PayPal does give you the option of using a credit card.

 

How do I cancel my account?
To cancel your account, you can either submit a support ticket to us with your PayPal e-mail address, or you can cancel your subscription within PayPal itself. Please not the following situations:

  • If you cancel your subscription within the first week of the first billing month, we will terminate your seedbox at that time.
  • If you cancel your subscription in the first week of any other billing month after that month's payment has already gone through, we will assume that you wish to keep the seedbox until the end of that month.
  • If you contact us within the first week of a new billing month indicating you wish to cancel your account immediately, we will refund the last payment made and terminate your seedbox at that time.

 

I still haven't received my refund!?
Please note that it can take up to 24 hours to process a refund. If you still haven't gotten your refund after this time, contact support and we would be happy to take a look at it for you.

 

Your Seedbox

I can't access my seedbox!
If you get a connection error or timeout on your browser when trying to access your seedbox give it a couple of minutes before contacting support. More often than not the scripts will fix any problems but if you can't get access after 5 minutes please open a new support ticket and we'll take a look.

 

I get a duplicate files on server error?
This can sometimes happen if the database has not been purged recently. Simply rename the .torrent file to something else before uploading to the seedbox. For example: video.torrent already exists, just rename to video2.torrent

 

Why is my torrent stuck on starting?
Check the torrent details. Click on the torrent name in the main transfer window to bring up the control window. If you see lots of open ports this usually signifies a hash fail when starting the torrent. You need to go back to the main transfer window and put a tick alongside this torrent then go to the bottom of the transfer window and select "Delete" from the drop down menu, then hit the "Go" button. Now try uploading the torrent again. If it sticks on starting a second time contact support.

 

How do I seed my own files?
First you need to get these files to the seedbox. The best way is to use FTP to upload the folder with the files from your PC to the seedbox.

You then log onto the seedbox and go to your Directory List to see the new folder. Alongside each folder are a group of icons including the "Make Torrent" icon. Click this and enter the tracker details. Once you've created the torrent file it will automatically start seeding in your transfer window but you still need to upload this torrent file to the tracker before it will connect.

At the moment, we only offer windows seedbox hosting. You cannot seed your own files using windows hosting. We are working to bring you this feature in the very near future.

With TorrentFlux no longer supported by DedicatedSeedbox.net, in order to seed your own files, you will have to make a .torrent file using uTorrent or the program of your choice on your own computer, then upload that .torrent file to your seedbox. Your seedbox should see that your computer is seeding the file and download the file from you. Once the file has been (uploaded by you) (downloaded by the seedbox), you can then seed the file for however long you desire.

 

Why is my FTP connection slow?
Please make sure you have passive mode enabled and the number of simultaneous downloads is set to 5 in your FTP client. If the problem isn't related to these settings then please run a tracert from your PC to the seedbox IP and raise a support ticket posting the tracert results along with the UTC time the scan was ran. This will assist us to assist you better.

Why is my torrent not downloading or uploading any data?
First, check it isn't stuck on Starting. (see above) Other answers can be found by checking the torrents log. You can check the log by clicking the torrent name in the transfer window to bring up the control window. Now click the log link along the top of this window. Scroll to the bottom of the log to see what the problem might be. If there's something you're not sure about open a new support ticket and paste the log so we can respond faster.

 

Why did my torrent which was uploading fine just stop?
First check to see what the seeding ratio is. Has it hit 500%? This is the default seeding ratio but you can seed more by using Reset Totals. Place a tick alongside this torrent in the main transfer window then select "Reset Totals" from the drop down menu at the bottom of the transfer window then hit the "Go" button. You can now start this torrent for another bout of seeding.

If it's stopped before 500% then please check the "Why is my torrent not downloading or uploading any data?" question above.

 

I can log onto the seedbox but FTP won't work.
Try your username in lowercase in the FTP client. So if your username is "UserName", try "username".
If you still have problems contact support. Chances are the FTP server has just stalled.

How do I upgrade my package?
Please open a support ticket requesting which package you require. We will send an invoice based on your remaining billing period.

 

How do I change the percent I seed back? (Transfer Profiles)

uTorrent: Select the torrent and right-click to open the properties window. There you can select what percentage you want the torrent to seed to.

TorrentFlux: Stop the torrent if it is running. When you try start the torrent, you will get a popup window. There you can select what percentage you want the torrent to seed to. You can also click the "advanced" start" icon in the transfer window alongside the torrent.
